John L. Campain Age 68 Iron River, MIDied Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Northstar Health System, Iron River. Born: June 24, 1943 in Ishpeming, MI The son of the late Frank M. and Lucille M. (Paris) Campain attended St. Paul's Elementary and High Schools, graduating in 1961. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving from 1961 to 1964. John later attended Northern Michigan University, Marquette, MI for his bachelor's degree in education. He was employed as a teacher at the West Iron County Schools for 22 years, retiring in 1992. Following his retirement, he worked for MEA Financial Services. John married the former Kathleen Kleinke on July 8, 1967 in Menominee, MI and the couple made their home in Stambaugh. They enjoyed 44 years of marriage. John was a member of the Grace Covenant Church of Iron River. An avid outdoorsman and athlete, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and skiing. Friends and family knew him for his quick wit and humor. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Campain He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Sons, Joseph (Carmen) Campain of Iron River David Campain (Andrea Dibley) of Hancock, MI Daughter, Christina (Peter) Norland of Jericho, VT Brothers, Phillip (Doris) Campain of Waterford, MI Charles Campain of Iron Mountain, MI Seven grandchildren, Magdalen, John Paul and Amos Norland Emma, Clara, Lucia, and Simon Campain Visitation: Tuesday, July 12, 2011 from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Grace Covenant Church, Iron River. Funeral Service: Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Grace Covenant Church, Iron River, with Rev. James Swanson II to officiate.
