Mr. William "Bill" C. Krueger Age 86 Iron River, MI Passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2007, at the Iron River Care Center, Iron River, MI. Born January 14, 1921 in Phelps, Wisconsin The son of the late William and Edith (Thrasher) Krueger attended the Elvoy School. He served 3 years in the Civilian Conservation Corp and later served in the U.S. Army. He served overseas during World War II, and was a recipient of the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with one Silver and one Bronze Battle Star, a Bronze Service Arrowhead, five Overseas Service Bars, Good Conduct Medal, and a Purple Heart. He married Harriet Mackey and the couple made their home in the Alvin, Wisconsin area for many years. He later moved to the Iron River area and worked as a logger in Iron County. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother James, and three infant children. He is survived by Harriet Morehouse, his sister Belva (Leo) Gurchinoff of Iron River, MI, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Private graveside services will be held. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Alvin, WI. The Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River, MI, is in charge of arrangements.
