Stanley J. Gibula Age 97 Iron River, MI Passed away December 3, 2011 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls, MI. Born: September 9, 1914 in Chicago, IL. The son of the late John and Rose (Dubiel) Gibula attended school in Chicago. Stanley was a World War II veteran serving as a Military Policeman in the U. S. Army. Stanley married the former Ann Fiolek on September 10, 1938 in Chicago. The couple moved to the Iron River area in 1985 and celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in 1995. Ann preceded him in death in August of 1996. Stanley was employed as at truck driver in the shipping business for 30 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian. Stanley enjoyed crafting, music and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He was preceded in death by his son Thomas, brothers Joseph and Walter, and a sister, Sophie. He is survived by son, Jim (Diane) Gibula of Iron River Daughter, Patricia (Robert) Wheelock of Chandler, AZ. Granddaughter, Rebecca (Trevor) Tagel of Sheboygan, WI Great grandchildren, Trenton, Brianah, and Tanner Tagel Visitation: Friday, December 9, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. Funeral Service: Friday, December 9, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian with Rev. Gregory Veneklase to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
