Roger Carne

Roger L. Carne Age 71 Crystal Falls, MIDied Monday, December 5, 2011 at Marquette General Hospital, Marquette, MI. Born: July 23, 1940 in Iron River, MI The son of William J. Carne and Joyce (Greig) Holmes attended the Iron River Schools. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving on the U.S.S. Shenandoah. He worked as an equipment operator for 40 years, retiring in 1998. Roger married the former Virginia Curtiss on March 18, 1961 in Crystal Falls and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary this year. Roger was a member of the Faith Fellowship Church of Crystal Falls, the American Legion Louis Bowman Post #87 of Crystal Falls and the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed tinkering with his cars, camping and fishing. He enjoyed family time and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, William, step-mother, Mary Silk Carne, and step-brother, Calvin Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Mother, Joyce Holmes of Iron River Son, Daniel (Cathy) Carne of Kingsford, MI Daughters, Cheryl (Scott) Rhino of Iron River Terese Carne of Crystal Falls Yvonne (Tim) Bean of Crystal Falls Brother, Bill (Ann) Carne of Republic, MI Step-brother, Dr. Robert Anderson of Kenton, MI Sister, Myrna Masuga of Iron River Step-sister Carole (Alan) Kinner of Phelps, WI Six grandchildren, Cathy-Lee Carne, Rhianna Carne, Roger Carne, Katilee Rhino, Brandon Bean and Tyler Bean Two dogs, B. Bug and Judette Visitation: Saturday, December 10, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Faith Fellowship Church, Crystal Falls. The East Side Veterans will pass in review at 12:45 p.m. Memorial Service: Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Faith Fellowship Church, Crystal Falls, with Pastor Cheryle Spicer to officiate.
