Miriam H. Maki Age 93 Gaastra, MI Died Tuesday January 11, 2011 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls, MI Born: February 3, 1917, Amasa, MI She was the daughter of the late Emil and Ida (Niemi) Kuure and was a life long resident of the area. She attended the Amasa schools, graduating with the Class of 1934. Miriam married John Trimberger in 1937; he died in 1945. She remarried in 1967 to Ralph Maki; he preceded her in death in 1975. She worked for many years at the Rainbow Cleaners in Iron River and at Walgreen's Drug Store as well as at the Senior Citizen Center. Miriam was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Caspian, St. Ann's Society, and the Daughters of Isabella where she served as Past Regent. She was also a member and served as secretary for the Eagles, V.F.W. Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary . She was also preceded in death by a son David Trimberger and four brothers, Eino, Taito, Wilbur and Sulo Kuure. She is survived by two sons; Robert Trimberger of Idaho Falls, ID Charles Trimberger of Flint, TX Four Step-daughters, Susan Partridge, Belding, MI Joyce Ricciardelli, Great Neck, NY Lona Maki, of Evanston, IL Cindy Schurz,of Fairbanks, AK 19 grandchildren 23 great grandchildren 9 great, great grandchildren Nieces, nephews and extended family Visitation: Friday, January 14, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. Funeral Service: Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 10a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Caspian, with the Rev. George Maki to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. The Ladies of St. Ann's Society will form an honor guard at the funeral service. Interment: Hematite Twp.
