Lucille M. Kinter Age 87 Orange Park, FL Passed away Friday, February 03, 2012 at Community Hospice Hadlow Center, Jacksonville, FL. Born: January 26, 1925 in Iron River, MI The daughter of the late Reuben and Amelia (Hanson) Benson and step-father, the late Everett Erickson) attended the Bates Township Schools through 10th grade and graduated from Iron River High School with the Class of 1942. Following graduation, Lucille was employed at the Montgomery Wards Store in Iron River. Her family moved to Badger, WI during WWII, where she worked in the office of the Badger Ordinance Works for a few years. She also furthered her education by attending college for three years at the University of North Florida, where she studied fine art. Lucille then went to Great Lakes Naval Base where she worked in Civil Service. It was here that she met her husband Jim Kinter. They were married on August 25, 1951. Her husband served and retired from the U.S. Navy. They enjoyed many travels during his Naval career and at one time lived in the Panama Canal Zone and South America. Lucille was a member of the Lady Elks of Orange Park, FL. She was an outdoor person and loved all animals and was a very good tennis player most of her life. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, brother, Robert Benson, and sister, Donna Gutshall. She is survived by her brothers, Nels (Frances) Benson of Green Bay, WI Lloyd (Marlene) Benson of San Jose, CA Sisters, Joyce Rudolph of Safety Harbor, FL Dorothy (Art) Aregoni of Caspian, MI Nieces, nephews and extended family Visitation : Thursday, February 9, 2012 from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River.
