James C. Greig Age 85 Iron River, MIDied Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Marquette General Hospital, Marquette, MI. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who will be missed very much. James was born March 26, 1926 in Gaastra, MI, the son of the late Charles and Ella (Bomaster) Greig. He attended the Iron River area schools. He entered the U.S. Navy in March 1944 and served until May 1946. James worked as a carpenter's apprentice with his dad until 1950. He married the former Evelyn Beckman on November 12, 1949 in Iron River. They moved to Racine, Wisconsin to make their home and he worked at Johnson Wax and as a carpenter for six years. The couple returned to Iron River and he worked for Hebert Construction until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of Local Union 1015 for 55 years. James was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Iron River and was a member of the American Legion Alfred Branchini Post 17. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and all sports. He spent many hours doing carpenter work on his camp near Cooks Run and doing work for family and friends. He remodeled an old house on Division Street and and the couple made their home there for 48 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Thomas, twins Dick and Donald, and sister, Jane Roccher. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Two sons, Daniel (Renee) Greig of Suamico, WI Ernest Greig (Pam Rosenthal) of Iron River Two daughters, Karen (Bill) Wagner of Green Bay, WI Patti Greig (Tony Serbinski) of Iron River Eight grandchildren, JT Greig, Jenna Greig, Noah Greig, Isaac Greig, Tanya (Jeffery) Iverson, Tara (Daniel) Cook, Todd (Lisa) Wagner, and Trent Wagner Six great grandchildren, Spencer Iverson, Addie Iverson, Lewis Wagner, Rodney Wagner, Basil Cook and Levi Greig Two sisters, Ellamae (Leo) Herman, of Florence, WI Kathy (Jack) Kangas of Iron River, MI Nieces, nephews and extended family Visitation: Monday, November 14, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church. Funeral Service: Monday, November 14, 2011at 1:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Iron River, with Rev.
