Andrew "Andy" Cirello Age 83 Iron River, MIDied Monday, November 15, 2010 at Marquette General Hospital, Marquette, MI. Born: June 2, 1927 in Gaastra, MI The son of the late Samuel and Pancrazia (Talerico) Cirello attended the Stambaugh Schools. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, serving in Germany. Andy was employed by the M.A. Hanna Mining Company for over 40 years, retiring from the Groveland Mine in 1981. Following retirement, he worked part time for Shamion Equipment and D.A. McPherson. Andy married the former Mabel Baker on July 23, 1948 in Vulcan, MI. and the couple made their home in Iron River. They celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary in 1989. Mabel preceded him in death on March 28, 1990. Andy was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, American Legion Alfred Branchini Post #17, V.F.W. Ottawa Post #3134, and the Iron River Elk's Lodge #1671. A gentle man, his life was his family. He enjoyed making homemade sausage, traveling, wintering in Arizona with his friends, and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He loved "Sunday" football and watching all sports. His contagious smile will be missed by everyone who knew him. His grandchildren and family members will forever miss his wonderful life stories about his Italian heritage and his military experience. He is survived by three daughters; Sherry (Dale) Wodzinski of York, PA Darlene (Roger) Carlson of Iron River Jill (Mark) Ponozzo of Iron River Sister, Theresa (Kenneth) Jacques of Iron River Five grandchildren; Steve Wodzinski of Brandon, FL Mark (Kerri) Wodzinski of Cochranville, PA Stacey (Brian) Bushey of Mason, MI Nikki (Steve) Hebert of Iron River Andy (Denise) Carlson of Iron River Nine great grandchildren One great, great grandchild Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins And very special buddy, Mike Kmiecik Visitation: Friday November 19, 2010 from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. An Elks Lodge of Sorrow Service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Funeral Service: Friday November 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Iron River, with Rev. Norman Clisch, Pastor, to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. The West Side Veterans will accord Military Rites.
