Ancele Catherine Dobrzenski Age 71 Bisbee, Arizona Died Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at the Life Care Center, Sierra Vista, Arizona, as a result of long term complications from spinal and brain tumors. She had, by this time, become a paraplegic, completely deaf and almost blind. She was born March 27, 1939 in Iron River, Michigan to William John and Celia (Brozak) Dobrzenski, the first of eight children. She was baptized at Saint Agnes Church in Iron River. Ancele attended schools in Iron River, graduating from eighth grade of Saint Agnes School in 1953 and from Iron River High School in 1957. In 1961 she graduated from Northern Michigan College with a B.S. in physical education. Ancele was a member of Saint Patrick Parish in Bisbee and served for many years as an extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, a youth group leader, and reader, giving up this last of all when it became difficult for her to walk. She taught briefly in Saint Claire Shores, Michigan and was for some years the guidance counselor at Menominee High School, Menominee, Michigan. While living in Menominee, she was a member of Saint William Parish. In 1972 Ancele relocated to Bisbee, Arizona, spending a year teaching at Saint Patrick School, and then, until her retirement, serving as guidance counselor or principal, and the first girl's basketball coach of the Bisbee High School. During these years she completed her Master's Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, three infant brothers, Billy, Tommy and Thomas, and her two sisters, Mary Kay Niemisto and Therese Peterson. She is survived by two brothers, Reverend Francis Dobrzenski of Lake Linden, Michigan, and Mark (Robin) Dobrzenski of Sparks, Maryland and several nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Reverend Francis Dobrzenski (brother) at 11:00 A.M. (Central) on Monday, December 20, 2010, at Saint Agnes Church in Iron River. Lunch will be served in the parish hall after the Funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be offered to Saint Agnes Church in Iron River. The Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River, Michigan is in charge of the arrangements.
