Aida Marie Bandaccari Age 87 Crystal Falls, MIpassed away Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility where she has been a resident for the last four years and nine months. Aida was born on February 22, 1924 the daughter of Fred and Anita Hill in Crystal Falls, Michigan where she resided most of their life. She attended the Crystal Falls School through the 10th grade. Aida married Anthony Bandaccari on November 21, 1940 and the couple resided in Crystal Falls most of their lives. Aida worked for the Miller Department Store, Wanda's, and then at the Crystal Falls Hospital where she retired on June 1, 1985 after 21 years as a Nurse's Aide. She was a member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church. Aida had many interests during her lifetime. She was an expert seamstress, making most of her children's clothes when they were young and a lot of her clothing until she could no longer sew. She was also a wonderful knitter, making sweaters for her family and friends, plus afghans, socks, mittens, etc. She made a sweater set for every one of her grandchildren. Aida was an avid bowler, where she held the office of secretary for many years and took great pride in the fact she was able to attend the National Bowling Tournaments for 25 years. Aida performed at the Variety Shows at the Crystal Theater. In her younger years she loved to dance ballet and tap. She is survived by her children Aida Seppala, Charlie (Janie) Bandaccari, and Donna Lehto; one sister,Carolyn Chapman; two brothers, Fred and George Hill; eight grandchildren, Jim, Keith, Debbie, Brian, Brad, Sherry, Michael, and Cindy; sixteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Della Kirkpatrick and two sons-in-law, James Lehto and Robert Seppala. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Crystal Falls, with Rev. Jeffery Kurtz to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Iron County Medical Care Facility. The Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River is in charge of the arrangements.
